About the WTD

The Woodland Training Division [WTD] was launched in Autumn 2000. It has been created in response to the demand for information and training related to the management of small woodlands particularly of the type most closely associated with farming.

We have developed a range of courses designed to appeal to small woodland owners, or those directly involved in working within small woodlands.  We also provide training for those aspiring to work in woods or with wood.

It is intended by means of these courses to stimulate awareness of the value or latent potential in underdeveloped and neglected woodland. We will also inform our clients of the methods of evaluation, development and enhancement of the woodland resource to improve and maximise the creation of a wide range of forest products, by-products and services.

Our courses would also be of value to those individuals  considering the establishment of such a resource, the careful planning of which can markedly improve the long term benefits and returns.

We have access to a range of advisors; specialists in a wide field of forestry related disciplines, who we are able to call upon for specific advice.
